The Blender

I have a secret….

I have been cheating on my juicer with the blender. And, I like it!

Juicing has been great and I will continue to juice, but I will definitely be making smoothies as well. I was given a few smoothie recipes to try out and I have decided that I really enjoy it. The best thing about making smoothies is the easy clean up. With juicing, there are so many parts of the machine that need to be cleaned after each use. Plus, I feel like I am wasting all that good pulp. If I can use less fruit and also have less to clean afterwards, I am all in.

The smoothie I made is made up of these ingredients:

3 large leaves of romaine lettuce

1/2 a banana

1/2 cup frozen/fresh pineapple

2 tablespoons unsweetened coconut chips

2 tablespoons ground flaxseed

1 cup (more or less depending on consistency) almond milk

Add it. Blend it. Drink it.

I understand this may look a little gross, but it really is fresh and delicious. I also made the same recipe but substituted the banana for a 1/2 cup of blueberries. And again, I had a delicious smoothie.
